Hello everyone, WELCOME  to Mountain Custom Quilting Blog.

November … a time for gathering all the abundance with a heart full of gratitude. It’s the end of harvest season, a time for remembrance and reflection.  Time to pause and accept the stillness of the coming season.

WINTER is among us here in Alberta, Canada.  You know what the best part of winter for me is?

I get to sew along with all of you.  Like last year’s sew along, ‘Rainy Day Monday’, I will be uploading everyone’s progress on the group ‘Sewciable’ on my Facebook.  Sew please send me pictures of your progress.  If you have any issues or questions this ‘Sisterhood’ can converse, share and assist each other as we sew along together.

I hope by now you have all picked your fabrics and are possibly using some of your scraps too.

Scraps are little treasures that we can include in our projects. They can pop and catch our eyes adding interest and movement, saving us money by using them up.  I’m excited to see all the different fabric choices in everyone’s projects and if you have chosen to add in your scraps. If it is your first time using scraps it can be a little intimidating. But as the blocks develop, you will see the amazing detail that each of your fabrics add to the block.  You will be amazed and may become hooked on scrap quilting.

Winter always feels soo00oooo long, sew thanks for sewing along with me again.  I chose this block as the first step, as we all belong to the same sisterhood.

Let’s get started…

 ‘ABUNDANCE’  Step 1.

Sister’s Choice Block.

Isn’t it a Beauty!  Make 9 of these blocks, measuring 9 ½” x 9 ½” unfinished.

Check out my website under Quilt Squad trainings for Companion Angle Ruler tutorial to make HST.

I invite you to my Instagram and my Mountain Custom Quilting Facebook to watch my instruction video.

Until next time.
