Quilts are more than comfort and warmth – they tell a story… let me help you tell yours.
Hi I’m Jocelyn Karran. I am a passionate quilter… a little obsessed with it really! I love working with fabrics and creating quilts that showcase their beautiful designs and patterns – scrap quilting is my passion. Over time I have developed a keen eye for color and values which I now share and teach through quilting workshops and retreats.

How I Can Help You…
I specialize in – Edge to Edge, Block and Borders and Custom Quilting with my own Gammill Statler computerized long arm machine. I machine quilt for my clients and truly feel honoured to make their masterpieces magnificent and I strive for the utmost precision in every quilt. Enhancing and finishing projects is very satisfying and ‘sew’ much fun to me!!
Edge to Edge
is one selected digital pattern which is repeated from edge to edge and applied row by row to complete the entire quilt body. Most common style.
Block to Block with Borders
Consists of the same or a collection of digital block patterns. Complimented with either sashings and corner stones or possible border corner sets. Semi custom.
Custom Quilts
Is the crème de la creme of machine quilting. The entire machine quilting is digitally designed to fit and compliment the intricately pieced quilt top. Creating textile works of art.
Did You Know? Mountain Custom Quilting has a large selection of digital patterns to choose from in our current library. However, if there is a particular designer or specific digital pattern you’re interested in (that I don’t already have) I can purchase it online. I will split the purchase price 50/50 and apply it to your quilt.
A little about me…
Those who really know me often compare me to Martha Stewart – I’ve always been crafty and handmade is how I live my life – canning, cooking, gardening and of course quilting! I have been sewing forever and took up quilting in the late 1990’s. Scrap quilting is my fav because I love choosing and mixing up different colours, patterns and designs.
In 2017 I purchased my own Gammill Statler computerized long arm machine – (I began using long arm quilting machines back in 2002). Machine quilting opened up new creative avenues and directions for me, and that’s what keeps me up working into all hours of the night in my studio. I find it very fulfilling to finish the quilts my clients (friends) have put their hearts and souls into. For me, computerized machine quilting is really beautiful with endless digital patterns and numerous designers – and as the saying goes… sew many patterns and sew little time.
“Jocelyn is an avid quilter; all her quilts are very well made as she puts time and effort into each. Mastering intricate patterns – her workmanship is exquisite. Time fly’s when she is in her ‘Happy Place’ sewing and quilting.”
“I have sent many quilts to Jocelyn to do the final stitching on her long arm machine. My quilts that I sent were different from a heavily pieced quilt to a panel quilt. I left the quilting to Jocelyn to choose and administer. Each were returned to me with a unique design that just complimented my quilt and has a custom design to enhance the beauty of the quilt. I will be glad to show any of the quilts to those interested and have given permission to Jocelyn to share them with you.”
“I have had Jocelyn do many of my quilts. I absolutely love every one that she has done for me. She seems to know what pattern should be applied even though she has hundreds to choose from. She is patient with the novice quilter (me) and will explain the whole process to you. With a smile! I won’t take my quilts any where else.”
